Episode 142: Tara King Era |

Production completed: 11 July 1968
On the whole quite good, in spite of
Tara's fashion follies. Worth it for the climactic fight alone.
Does Plummer's flat look familiar? You will see it again as Caspar's flat in "Super Secret Cypher Snatch." Oh, and while Rhonda never utters a line of dialog in her tenure on The Avengers, she does give a whistle in this one when she summons an agent to take some milk for analysis. Or is it Tara's whistle? Funny, but Tara makes precisely the same whistle just a minute later when she is summoning her non-existent colleagues at the dairy. Talk about trivia! This time Mother's office is in the top of a double-decker (shot on a real bus driving through the rain). Note that this little device was lifted for the dreadful movie. Screenwriter Jeremy Burnham was a guest actor who appeared in three episodes: "The Town of No Return," "The Fear Merchants" and "The Forget-Me-Knot." *This unofficial subtitle is by Yours Truly.
"Plucky, but from the wrong side of
the hill." (Steed commenting on the wine he finds in Penman's
refrigerator)
Whilst buttering several hundred slices of bread, Steed denies that he will take Tara to dinner, or that he likes her new outfit. (Of course, he could have been telling the truth about her outfit—we'll never know...) |
