Production completed: 12 February 1964 The target of a failed assassination attempt by the British government five years ago visits Britain to carry out his country's arms negotiations. But no one expected the agent who was given the assignment to kill him would "return from the dead" in order to complete his mission, and Steed must now protect a man Britain had once wanted dead.
Very clever. Tight and neat. Best known as the episode in which Steed's superior is tucked away in the meat locker of a local butcher shop.
The book Steed is seen reading in this episode is available from Amazon! Acronym Alert: PANSAC is the Permanent Agency for National Security and Counterintelligence. Some scenes were pre-recorded on 11 February 1964 in advance of the main recording.
Quilpy, Steed's superior, stands at the door of the meat locker and says, "Well, come into the 'fridge—there's still one or two things to be done."
